New years. New beginnings. Always filled with good intentions. Goals. Plans. How do I move FORWARD?
“Stay alert; be in prayer so you don’t wander into temptation without even knowing you’re in danger. There is a part of you that is eager, ready for anything in God. But there’s another part that’s as lazy as an old dog sleeping by the fire.”( Matthew 26:41 MSG )
Truly, I am eager. I am filled with those good intentions. And feeled with good intentions. Plans. Thoughts. Goals. But how do I move FORWARD? How do I stay intentional?
The Scripture quoted above tells me to “Stay alert,” and to “be in prayer.” Those are the first steps of moving FORWARD. I do not want to wander into danger. I don’t want to be so distracted that I don’t even see it coming.
STAY ALERT. BE IN PRAYER.
I am eager. Yeah, I can do this! At least, I think I can do this. Can I do this? Only if I am intentional. Only if I don’t slip. Only if I make it a priority.
STAY ALERT. BE IN PRAYER. MOVE FORWARD. BE READY FOR ANYTHING.
But, how do I conquer that part of me that is lazy. Lazy as an old dog. Wow! That hurts!
STAY ALERT. BE IN PRAYER. BE INTENTIONAL. BE READY FOR ANYTHING. PRIORITIZE. DON’T BECOME SO DISTRACTED. RELY ON HIS STRENGTH. TRULY RELY ON HIM. AND JUST PRAY.
” As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength. “(Psalm 138:3 – NLT)
BE IN PRAYER. AS SOON AS I PRAY – GOD THE FATHER WILL GIVE ME STRENGTH. STRENGTH TO MOVE FORWARD.
