We all do it. One way or another. When we are hurt, upset, mad…emotional…we run to something, or someone.
When I hurt, I want to feel…something else.
I have ran to…
Fill in the blank. What do you run to?
All those things are filled with regrets. Shame. More pain. Even if it is a “different” pain.
There are times I run right toward the things I should be running away from.

2 Timothy 2:22 mentions we should run from anything that motivates and creates lusts.
Lusts are desires, cravings, longings – for things that are forbidden. Things that are not good for us. Things that are destructive.
“But if you make a run for God – you won’t regret it!” (Psalm 2:12, The Message)

LORD God, forgive me for all the times I have ran to other things/people, when I should have ran to You. I acknowledge that You are the LORD God Almighty – there is none like You. My help comes from You – only You – the Maker of heaven and earth (Psalm 121:2). I have tasted of Your kindness (1 Peter 2:3). Restore my taste for what is good. There is none good but You (Luke 18:19)! Become my one desire – my craving – the longing of my heart. My heart has heard You say, “Come and talk with Me.” And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming.” (Ps 27:8) I am safe when I run to You (Proverbs 18:10)!
